ATTENDANCE
If your child is absent please phone the school when the office opens at 8.30am. On return, a written note of explanation is required and will be held for when the Educational Welfare Officer carries out a register check.
We strongly advise Parents against taking children out of school during term time as all absences from school affects a child’s education. Children should attend school for 190 days a year, which means there are 175 non-school days left for holidays, treats and shopping.
On the rare occasion permission for children to be absent from school is needed, an appointment with the Headteacher should be made if the absence is for more than one week. For an absence of less than a week, a letter of explanation will be required. However, parents should be aware that authorisation will be at the discretion of the Headteacher and Governors. Authorisation will not be given to Year 2 children during the end of Key Stage I assessment period during April/May and June.
