SEX EDUCATION
We do teach aspects of sex education through our Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) and science curriculum e.g. How we Grow. Also, we deal sympathetically with children’s questions as they arise and encourage an appreciation of good family life and the consideration of others which this entails.
Our Science work on the “Process of Life” lays the groundwork for
more explicit sex education in future years. The children learn:
* that living things reproduce their own kind
* that personal hygiene, food, exercise, rest and safety are important
* to be able to describe the main stages in the human life cycle
